Lake in the desert

This system of lakes located in the Republic of Chad, in the Ennedi district, and around it – the endless Sands. The system includes not only freshwater, but also salt, and also over-salted. All the lakes are due to the recharge of underground sources. Despite the unifying name "system", a chain of lakes Ounianga divided into 2 groups, located at a distance of C40 kilometers from each other. They differ in chemical composition, some of them are so salty that only support primitive forms of life, and some new lakes provide habitat for many species. The area of the lake Teli, the largest and most biologically important, is 4.5 square kilometers and a maximum depth of -10 meters. It was one of the most unusual oases in the world.

Of course, presnovodnaya and purity of these lakes allow aquatic fauna to be very diverse. The first picture you can see the whole system taken from the satellite.
