Tetra Pak goes to bioplastics



In the composition of the total produced in Brazil, Tetra Pak will use biopolitical low density (LDPE).

Together with cardboard biopolitical provides the share of renewable materials in the packing Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000ml Base at 82%.
Biopolitical low density has the same physical and chemical properties as conventional polyethylene-based hydrocarbons. Customers will not need to change equipment to move on to new materials. Initially, Tetra Pak was the priority it is the Brazilian market, but in the future the company plans to expand to other markets.

Vice President of marketing and product management Charles Brand said that the company's goal is the use of a fully renewable package. He considers the use of bioplastics is an important step in this direction.
