According to the study, all the children are afraid of clowns

In the study, "Space care", aimed at improving the conditions of children's hospitals in the United States, psychologists decided to ask the opinion of children: they asked 250 students of the University of Sheffield, what they thought about clowns.

It turned out that all of the surveyed children aged 4 to 16 years old is considered clowns really scary and would not want to see them in the hospital as a decoration.

Ironically, almost all the Western children's hospitals somehow involve clowns - or actors invited to cheer up the children or as toys and pictures. Psychologists believe that children clowns seem scary, because when children try to recognize facial features and thus feel the mood, exaggerated clown mouths, noses, and other overhead features of appearance knock them confused, and therefore frightening.

Fear of clowns called koulrofobiya. This term is widespread in speech and on the Internet, but in any legal documents is not specified. By the way, the World Health Organization koulrofobiyu as a mental illness does not recognize.
