June 24, 1945 in Moscow's Red Square hosted the first parade of the army, the navy and the Moscow garrison in commemoration of the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War. It was decided to bring in Berlin Red Banner, which was hoisted over the Reichstag April 30, 1945 scouts of the 150th Infantry Division and Kantariya Yegorov. By all accounts the flag over the Reichstag symbolized the ultimate downfall of Nazism. At the same time the pattern of the national flag of the USSR was urgently made nine banners - there were so many divisions that were part of the 3rd Shock Army. Flag number 5, which became the banner of Victory, was carrying a group of three men, led by Sergeant Ivanov. Ivanov was fatally wounded during the breakthrough to the upper floors of the building. But Sergeant Yegorov and Junior Sergeant Kantariya who cover their fellow soldiers were able to hoist the flag. Late in the evening April 30, 1945 on the roof of the Reichstag fluttered a red flag, and after it was raised two more.
