Evening of January 14 in Las Vegas, it was announced the name of the winner of the beauty contest "Miss America 2012".
She was the 23-year-old resident of Wisconsin Laura Keppeler (Laura Kaeppeler).
Speaking to members of the jury, Keppeler said that intends to become a speech therapist, receiving an appropriate education.
For winning the contest Keppeler receive a scholarship of 50 thousand dollars.
The competition involved 53 girls - one representative of each of the 50 states, as well as contestants of the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
