In Japan, built a store of energy from used batteries of electric vehicles

In a world with each passing month increases the number of electric vehicles. Accordingly, it becomes all the more urgent problem of the disposal of batteries of electric vehicles, after the life cycle of the battery runs out. The Japanese have found an interesting solution to the problem - the creation of energy storage, consisting of the batteries.

Japanese corporation Sumitomo Corporation together with Nissan has already created a repository located on the island Yumeshima, Osaka. This month repository already start to work by storing energy produced by the nearby "solar farms". The effectiveness of such a system will be studied in the next few years.

However, self storage facility (600 kW / 400 kWh) so far consists of only 16 used batteries of electric vehicles. In the future, the number of used items will increase, and the system is easily scalable. Japanese regulators and various inspections have already approved the project, so that such a system can work without any problems and obstacles from the environmental authorities and other public services.

It is understood that the energy stored system will be used to charge the same electric vehicles.

The aim of the project is twofold: to draw public attention to the problem of the disposal of batteries, as well as to attract the attention of the public to the same electric. In the future, the project will organize «4R Energy Corporation», jointly formed by Sumitomo Corporation and Nissan.
