Ice and Snow Festival in Harbin (Harbin Ice and Snow Festival)

In the Chinese city of Harbin started the next, already 29th in a row festival of ice and snow. The debut event took place back in 1963. Of course, if it was not so big and bright as it is today.

After a long break, since 1985, the festival has become a regular and every year for the creation of sculptures used more snow and ice. Ice traditionally take the Songhua river. This year, to fill the entertainment complex (600 thousand square meters) is planned to use about 180,000 cubic meters of ice. Snow also took about 150,000 cubic meters. Official opening of the Ice and Snow Festival in Harbin will be held in the next year - the fifth of January. The festival will close in early February.
