The draft of the new Olympic stadium in London in 2012 (9 photos)

British architect Peter Cook and HOK American company completed the preliminary drafting of the Olympic Stadium for the 2012 Games in London.

In this project, more attention was clearly paid to functionality and design flexibility, as compared to the "iconic" and the original appearance of the future construction. Arena 80 000 spectators will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics, as well as - athletics. After the Games it will be transformed into a multi-functional stadium for 25 000 people.
The overlap will be used as a tent construction in the form of tape width of 28 m; it will close two thirds of the seats.
Outside the stadium will be "wrapped" a band of non-woven material, which will be applied to the image of athletes.
