Compact electroanalyt VTOL
Electric aircraft-sized vehicle that can vertically take off and land, would transport people between cities at a speed of 300 km/h.
Co-founder and former CEO of Skype Niklas Zennstrom invested in German startup Lilium Aviation. The company is engaged in the development of VTOL-aircraft (VTOL), has collected more than €10 million from Zennstrema owned by venture capital firm Atomico and other investors.
Lilium Aviation is working on a lightweight, compact – car-sized – aircraft, which can make long-distance disguised at altitudes up to 3,000 meters. The reserve needs to reach 300 km and Speed of flight of 300 km/h. the Company plans to start testing a full size sample in the following year.
The company plans to give the person access to the fastest and most widely available system travel between cities. If successful, the path from Munich to Frankfurt will take no more than an hour, and the flight from San Francisco to Palo Alto in less than 15 minutes.
The money company will primarily be spent on expanding the team. It currently consists of 35 aircraft engineers and specialists. The aircraft that they are developing up in the air due to 36 small propellers along the wing. They provide vertical takeoff, after which the entire load is transferred to the wings and horizontal propellers.
The founders tell us that conceived this project with the aim to create the best way to move into the 21st century. In their opinion, such vehicles will increase the radius of human habitation three times. This will reduce the population density of cities and real estate prices.
The urban development of aircraft engaged several companies and all have ambitious plans. Uber promises to start the system of the flying VTOL-taxi a few years. A similar project is developing for Airbus. Company E-Volo, in turn, successfully tested double passenger quadcopter. And the list does not stop here, the ability to fly over traffic jams is very expensive. published
