The drug war in Rio continues to gain momentum
Last week in Rio de Janeiro occurred melkomastshabnaya war between Brazilian security forces and hundreds of drug traffickers hiding in the slums, called Complexo de Alemao. Once in the run-up to the World Cup in 2014 the authorities tried to quell drug traffickers and other criminal groups, the criminals responded furious rebuff - attacked police stations and staged a mass robbery. After several days of preparation, Brazilian security forces organized a raid on the Complexo de Alemao, where hiding 500 - 600 drug traffickers. The conflict has killed 42 people, and the police took control of the area. Arrest was, surprisingly, a little, and the police warned that this is not the end - it is ready to chase criminals through the maze of slums, until catch.
