Car batteries lose most of their capacity and performance with age. On average, they need to be changed every five years, although this figure is individual. With a significant decrease in performance, replacement is necessary, because you can find yourself in the middle of the road without the ability to start the car.

It is necessary to take into account the specification specified by the manufacturer in the instructions.

Violation of the recommended characteristics can be critical, since batteries have different mounting methods, placement of electrodes and pressure plates. Even the shape and size can get in the way of putting the battery back in place. And the starting current and capacity are the main indicators. You need to prepare the following tools:

  2. Socket, open-end or adjustable wrench.
  3. Adjustable holding pliers.

The last two items may be needed in case of oxidation of compounds. A new battery should also be treated with a cleaning agent, it protects against rust and oxidation. It is advisable to pick up several keys, among them there is always an option with a 10 mm socket. This is the most common type of nut.
