From 2025 in the Netherlands forbidden to sell petrol and diesel cars
A majority of the votes of the lower house of the Dutch Parliament supported the decision not to allow the sale of new gasoline or diesel vehicles with 2025. This proposal was submitted by the labour party, facilitates the transition of the Netherlands for electric transport over the coming decades.
If all measures are met, in 2025, cars with zero harmful emissions will be available for purchase. Those individuals or businesses who need vehicles on petrol from now on have to rely on the used market. While it is clear that there are many disagreements over such a radical plan, labour leader Diederik Samsom believes that the plan is quite feasible.
NL Times writes about the reaction from opponents:
People's party for freedom and democracy believes this proposal is overly ambitious and unrealistic. The Minister for economic Affairs Hank Kamp (from people party) considers, that not more than 15% of all sold cars can be fully electric by 2025. The party leader Halbe Zijlstra believes that the plan is contrary to the energy deal: "It sounds crazy to get this plan to work. I think we should get out of the energy agreement."
This view refutes the labour leader Diederik Samsom, who believes that the plan is realistic technologies in this area are developing rapidly, and other countries are already ahead of the Netherlands. The plan also has nothing to do with the energy deal:
"This agreement is valid until 2023, then we will have freedom of action. We are very ambitious, perhaps, other parties have less ambition ".to give petrol and diesel cars
Last year in Paris, 8 us States and 5 countries (one of them the Netherlands) have joined the International Alliance of cars with zero emissions (ZEV), promising to increase sales of electric vehicles by 2050.
In 2015 in the Netherlands purchased more than 43 thousand new electric cars, with 449,347 was that 9.6% of the market. published
P. S. And remember, only by changing their consumption — together we change the world! ©
