"Who's your daddy?!"

The boss of the Turkish company sold his business and paid each of the employees $200,000

Some cried, shouted, some wrote letters of thanks. All these emotions are because I managed to influence people's lives. Now they can buy houses, cars. And in general, everything that they could not afford before with a salary of 3-5 thousand Turkish liras. I think this is the right step. And I would like to give them more.

Nevzat Aydin

This guy definitely deserves the title of "Boss of the Year"! The head of the Internet service for ordering food, Nevzat Aydin, had a very successful business. And when he sold it for a whopping $589 million, he decided it was time to thank everyone who worked with him, and paid each of the 114 employees a one-time bonus of $200,000.

According to Aydin, such a step helped him show that if the company was able to succeed, it was only thanks to the joint efforts of its entire team. And this is what he was guided by:

  • The average salary in the company is about 1-1.8 thousand dollars per month;
  • Each employee received 200 thousand dollars - this is a salary for 11 years in advance;
  • The total amount of payments exceeded $ 27 million.
This idea was prompted by an article in a scientific journal on sociology, the authors of which argued that it is this amount that can provide all the necessary life needs of a person and make him stop considering money the main motivation for work.

Formally, the management had no legal obligations to employees. The decision made by the head of the startup was the first such case in Turkey.
