Caucasian state nature biosphere reserve 90 years

With regard to the care of the flora and fauna of the Caucasian state nature reserve, which is paid no less attention than ecotourism, in this direction it has already formed a ten-year tradition that allowed the object to reach certain heights.

For 25 years, the sanctuary has the title of "UNESCO Biosphere reserves", and is also part of the territory of the Western Caucasus, a UNESCO world natural heritage site by UNESCO.





Today on the territory of the Caucasian reserve is home to more than three thousand plants occur 10 thousand species of insects, nearly two hundred species of birds, 89 species of mammals, 100 species of mollusks, 21 species of fish and 9 species of amphibians.

A number of animals living here included in the Russian Red Book, among which the most noteworthy are deer, bison, lynx, brown bear and many others, the preservation of which in the reserve sent a Herculean effort.
