"Endeavour" still flew to the ISS

Shuttle Endeavour successfully launched from the spaceport in Florida (USA). The launch of the spacecraft was originally scheduled for last Sunday, but due to bad weather it was postponed for a day.

Endeavour is to deliver to the ISS two specially assembled in Europe Tranquility module and Copola - connecting node (it will help the astronauts to fix a broken space toilet) and an automated control panel, respectively. Both are designed for the American segment of the station.

On board the shuttle is a crew of six people: one of them is flying in space for the first time. Participants will stay at the ISS mission for 13 days, they will make three spacewalks - 11, 13 and 16 February. Endeavour undocking from the ISS is scheduled for February 18, landing - February 20.

Note that the current shuttle mission - one of the last five (and 130th in total) in the framework of the NASA Space Shuttle. At the turn of 2010 - 2011 years. shuttle flights will be stopped, and until then, until the launch will prepare a new series of spacecraft, astronauts into space will deliver the Russian "Soyuz».

Also Endeavour - the last space shuttle, launched at night. Its launch took place at 04:14 local (US) time (12:14 MSK).
