One of the most beautiful cities in China

Fenhuan was founded during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Initially, the city was populated by soldiers sent to pacify the local Miao people. Its modern, magnificent views of the city acquired during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) .Kitaytsy Miao tribe built wooden buildings along the river Fenhuan. These buildings have survived until today. Near the city held South Wall, stretching 190 kilometers. The wall was built during the Ming dynasty for protection from rebel Miao.

The historic center is gradually being improved and loses its identity. But if a little bit is removed from the cluttered center of souvenir shops, there, little has changed over the past 100 years.
