But is it possible to extend the capabilities of a standard DSLR-devices? By posing this question, researchers from Irlandskogo University (Germany) has created a device called the KaleidoCamera.

The device is placed between the "carcass" SLR camera and lens. When shooting light passing through the lens, falls into the KaleidoCamera, where is split into nine beams in accordance with the direction. The beams pass through the filter, then fall on the camera sensor in the form of a grid of independent images.
