Russian IT-the company creates autopilot

The Russian software developer Cognitive Technologies intends in the next three years to invest 750 million rubles in the development of unmanned vehicle control C-Pilot.

"We expect to be a major player in the development of software for Autonomous vehicles in Russia and to enter the international market," said President of Cognitive Olga Uskova.



Currently, Cognitive tests in Moscow C-Pilot on the basis of the SUV Nissan X-trail. Hardware-software complex includes optical cameras, radars, lidars, GLONASS/GPS receiver, electronic gyro and other solutions used for object detection.

First C-Pilot will learn to alert the driver of situations (including accidental exit lanes and bosmina collision), to recognize traffic signs and to monitor blind spots. This functionality is being tested now.

In the second phase of the project (implementation scheduled for 2017-2018) it is planned to create a system of active help, involving intervention in the vehicle operation (automatic steering, braking, etc.) under the direct control of the traffic situation on the part of the person behind the wheel.



 

Finally, in 2019-2022. Cognitive expects to achieve from the C-Pilot Autonomous driving in certain modes (road, traffic, etc.). Eventually it is planned to achieve full autonomy of driving.

Currently Cognitive has invested in C-Pilot about 380 million roubles, and also received 45 million roubles from the Ministry of education. The company plans to invest 750 million rubles in 2016-2019 published
