List Brodsky

Literature, required reading. "Just so you have something to talk».

Joseph Brodsky came to America in 1974 and became a professor of the five colleges. A little later learned about it the director of Women's University Mountain Holyoke and invited the poet to teach at the Faculty of Slavic Studies, although the Brodsky left school at age 15 and had no diploma.

By teaching the poet very seriously. About any summaries, plans, lectures, traditional textbooks out of the question, he talked about the writers and poets who were close to him. The lectures Brodsky allowed himself to drink coffee and smoked a lot.

Truly he poisoned the life of only one thing - unrestrained ignorance of American youth. One day, exasperated particularly bad class, Brodsky sat down at the typewriter and hastily made "list of books that everyone should read».
