The author of this unusual house located inside the crater Roden is a Los Angeles designer James Turrell. The artist managed to implement a fairly complex idea and build a harmonious fit into the surrounding landscape.





Roden Crater, located in Arizona, USA, is a cinder cone of an extinct volcano with a diameter of about 3, 2 km and a height of 183 meters. The age of this formation has about 400 thousand years, and in 1979 became the owner of this crater James Turrell. The artist immediately after the acquisition of the crater decided to turn it into an art object, erecting a building in the center, from which it would be possible to observe the natural phenomena and celestial bodies. Today the project is implemented in only one-third.
