Egyptian statue in the British Museum moves itself

The ancient Egyptian statue of Neb-Seine height 25 cm, dated 1800, the year BC. e. and is currently located in Menchesterskom Museum in England (acquired in 1993.) started to move by itself, much to the surprise of scientists and museum staff.

First noticed curator Campbell Price: it seemed strange to him, as the key was just him. Price put the statue in place, but the next day she again moved - then the museum staff have installed video surveillance of the statue and create a flip video, which shows the movement of the figures.

The video is displayed as it slowly rotates counterclockwise during the day, but the night remains stationary. British physicist Brian Cox suggested that the movement of statues during the day due to the vibration generated by the steps of visitors, he said that the reason for the motion was the differential friction when the two surfaces - the very stone figurine and the glass shelf on which it stands - are subjected to a light vibration. < br />
Figurine always turned over by 180 ° - perhaps the reason for this is that one side of it weighs more than the second: turning statue reaches a stable position on the shelf and no longer rotate.
