UK MOD инвестирует 270 million pounds in the development of an alternative to GPS. The novelty will be called & quot; quantum compass & quot ;. Its development is planned to spend 3 - 5 years, and it will engage scientists from the National Physical Laboratory in Porton Down.
The technology is based subatomic effect of Earth's magnetic field, which is detected by the device and allows you to determine the location of any point on the globe. This new model will completely eliminate the use of navigation satellites or stationary points of sending and receiving a signal, such as radio towers.
