Sometimes we rush into the store after work, and then rush on. Take your child out of school or kindergarten. Let's go to the gym or on a date. It's always hard to get things done. Meanwhile, our forgotten receipt from the grocery store ends up in a trash can under the cashier's counter. Do you need cash checks for a busy young mom or a busy businesswoman? Should you take them with you?



It would seem that a small loss - to leave a check at the checkout or throw it out at the exit of the store. Meanwhile, you're making a huge mistake that can make the scammers rich. At your expense, by the way! This happened in the Polish city of Garvolin, and it teaches us to pay attention to even such trifles.

To earn quickly and a lot, you need ingenuity, knowledge and perseverance. However, an ambitious 19-year-old guy from Garvolin decided to go illegal and outsmart everyone. The young “businessman” worked as a cashier in a local store and once managed to find a hole in the system. He used cash checks forgotten by customers and ended up enriched by 90,000 zlotys. How did he do that?



Every time you go to the store, the seller is obliged to give you a cashier's check as proof of purchase. This is not just a piece of paper, but a whole document. It is useful if you need to return or exchange goods, but usually we simply forget it on the counter. If the receipt falls into the hands of the wrong person, it can have serious consequences.

Why it's important to take your receipt with you This little piece of paper contains a trove of data that can be abused. The cheque holder has the right to request a refund for the purchased goods. The hero of our history knew about this possibility and decided to extort money. One day he started collecting forgotten checks at his workplace. The ignorance of the management allowed the grievous businessman to rob a store for a decent amount until he was finally caught.



After his arrest, he was charged with 100 fraud charges. It turns out that the young businessman adapted to cancel cash transactions, and put the money from the return in his pocket. He had been stealing from his boss for quite some time, and the idea seemed brilliant. But it went too far.

Through cunning and deception, the guy was able to rob the store for 90,000 zlotys, which is equal to 22.5 thousand dollars. The rich catch the guy immediately put into circulation. He first helped his mother repay the loan and then bought a car. When he was caught, the scammer tried to escape with a large sum of money. He now faces 8 years in prison. And was it worth it? .



A receipt for payment from any store has more value than you think. By the way, if the seller refused you to issue it, his boss may face a fine. In Poland, for example, it can be as high as 1,000 zlotys, and that’s still God’s way. In Ukraine, the company is obliged to pay a fine of 100% of the value of goods sold without a check. For each subsequent violation, the fine will be already 150% of the amount.



However, during the period of martial law, individual entrepreneurs received some concessions. For the first violation, they will be obliged to pay 25% of the unissued check to the budget, and for each subsequent violation - 50%.

So, feel free to ask the seller for a fiscal check! Protect yourself from fraudulent actions. There is no need for swindlers to line their pockets at the expense of honest people, unless it directly affects your own well-being.



Also remember your consumer rights. If you get married, the store is obliged to accept it for exchange or return within 14 days from the next day after purchase. Take with you the goods (it should be whole and without traces of use) with an intact label or tag of the store, passport and check.
