This night, the air alert in Kiev began at 2:24, and finally ended only at 5:33. My friend woke up from the explosions. They were so powerful that the whole apartment was shaking. "I started to vomit and my body just went numb," Ira wrote to me in the morning.



In those moments, I feel guilty because I slept carelessly all night. Although she wasn't safe herself, either. No one knows where the missiles are going or what the Russians want to destroy this time. That is why it is so important to be in shelter during air alerts.

The Kiev military administration assessed the night attack on the capital as the most massive in the history of a full-scale invasion. Russia hit Kiev in a complex way: from land, sky and sea. At the same time, drones, cruise and ballistic missiles were used.



The commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny officially stated that the air defense system was able to shoot down all the missiles. Moreover, even the Kinzhal ultrasonic missiles managed to neutralize. At the moment, these are the most powerful aeroballistic missiles of the Russian Federation. A total of 18 missiles were shot down. Apparently, such results were achieved thanks to the American Patriot air defense system.

So far, there are no data on people injured or killed in the night attack. However, the rocket wreckage damaged a lot of property. At night, fire trucks were constantly driving around Kiev, there were quite a lot of fires.

According to KMVA, the greatest damage in the Solomensky district. There was a fire of non-residential premises with an area of more than 200 square meters and several units of automotive equipment.

In other areas, the damage is insignificant. In most cases, there was a fall in debris on parked cars, adjoining territory or a forest park zone. In addition, the wreckage of rockets fell into the Kiev zoo, but the staff and animals remained intact. There was no fire there.



The mayor of Kiev said that today in the zoo held anti-stress measures for animals. At 10 a.m. the zoo opened its doors and was ready to welcome its first visitors.

In May of this year, the Ukrainian air defense system for the first time in history managed to shoot down the Kinzhal ultrasonic ballistic missile. This information has been confirmed many times, including by US intelligence agencies. This became possible thanks to the American Patriot installations. In Ukraine, they earned in April 2023.
