Green cement

The company "Renka" (Renca) receiving seed funding in the framework of Future Accelerators in Dubai, has developed geopolymeric cement from ash and ground granulated slag, which can be used in 3D printing. Product advantage over conventional Portland cement is that it can be used without additives, making it cheaper.

"Renka" is a start, a joint venture of Russian businessman Andrei Dudnikova and Italian geologist and mineralogist Alex Reggiani (Alex Reggiani). The company cooperates with the municipality to use new media in projects of 3D printing in Dubai. The company also plans to build a factory for the production of the product.

Geopolymeric cement prepared from industrial waste, which include pulverized fly ash and granulated blast furnace slag (a byproduct of iron and steel production). These materials not only derived from waste, but also have better insulation properties than traditional concrete, which makes the new material more resistant to heat and therefore better suited to work in hot zones.

According to the forecast Transparency Market Research, by 2024, the global market of environmentally friendly cement will grow to about 38.1 billion dollars. To the extent that, as more and more construction companies are interested in energy efficient and sustainable building materials that make it easier to get ratings LEED or Estidama, green concrete will become more and more popular. published
