Compatibility of a couple by blood

Proper planning of pregnancy is one of the biggest challenges facing moms and dads. But the most well-prepared parents may not even know about the danger to the baby, the cause of which may be the incompatibility for blood group.

The notion of compatibility of the parents At conception parent group affiliation, have equal influence on the formation of the baby's blood. However, there is no guarantee that the child will inherit the plasma of the father or mother. For example, parents with II and III group the probability of a child with any group is 25 %. But the main role in the concept of incompatibility is rather a is not blood group and RH factor.Note:the RH factor (Rh) antigen or a specific protein included in the composition of the blood 85% of the world population. It is located in the membrane of red blood cells (erythrocytes). People who have missing this protein are RH negative.

If both parents have either Rh+ or Rh–, it is reason for concern. Also don't worry if the blood of mother is RH positive and father is RH-negative. Problems in pregnancy can occur if RH-positive baby's plasma is mixed with RH-negative blood of the mother. Arise in this case, the reaction is called RH-conflict. It appears at the moment when antigen is present in the baby's blood and absent in the maternal into her body. When this occurs, agglutination – the sticking RH-positive and RH-negative erythrocytes. In order to prevent this, the female body begins to produce special antibodies – immunoglobulins. Antibodies produced by RH-conflict can be of two types – IgM and IgG. Antibodies of class IgM appear at the first meeting of the "rival" of erythrocytes and have a larger size, which do not penetrate the placenta. The repetition of this reaction are highlighted immunoglobulins of class IgG, which subsequently cause the incompatibility. In the future, there is a hemolysis – destruction of red blood cells in the baby's blood.

Consequences of hemolytic disease of the fetus In the process of hemolysis, the hemoglobin breaks down into toxic substances that affect the Central nervous system, heart, liver, kidney of the child. Subsequently may develop anemia, dropsy, swelling of the fetus. All this may be accompanied by hypoxia – oxygen deprivation, acidosis – disturbance of acid-alkaline balance and other complications. In the worst case may be fatal.
Causes of rhesus-conflict

The probability of occurrence of rhesus-conflict during the first pregnancy is 10 %. The calmer it flows, the less the probability of a blood of the child in the parent. But there are factors that even with a first pregnancy increases the likelihood of RH-conflict. As a rule it is:

– ectopic pregnancy; – abortion or miscarriage; – the Department or detachment of the placenta during childbirth or complications during pregnancy; – invasive survey methods, for example surveys damage to the integrity of the umbilical cord or the fetal bladder; – the blood transfusion. Fortunately, modern medicine gives the possibility to bear a healthy baby, even if the parents are not RH compatible, the only important time to learn about it and to take the necessary measures.
