Given the number of technological innovations, there is in this car (and they, of course, need energy to work), the figure is quite small. For comparison: the average fuel consumption of hybrids varies from 2-2,5 liters per 100 km.
Another eco-friendly feature of the Volkswagen XL1 is a reduction in CO2 emissions. It is as reduced to 21 grams per 100 km. Plug CO2 emissions by digibridge, for example, begins with 100-120 grams for the same distance.
One of technological feature of the car is the lack of mirrors. But do not be afraid, instead the Germans established a small rear view cameras called E-Mirrors. They take everything that happens around and shows on the display. By the way, are the cameras on yet another technological innovation – the built-in lifting the door. Just like in the movies about superheroes and the distant future, where Volkswagen XL1 could not drive, fly or float. No wonder it is in the press have dubbed the Dolphin, and it is not only external similarity (especially if you look at the car from above).
The streamlined shapes and smooth lines provided hybrid very low aerodynamic drag – 0,189. The term complex and not obscure to physicists. But this is a very important indicator for the lovers of speed, silence and savings at the same time. Low aerodynamic resistance helps to reduce fuel consumption, accelerate faster, and also increase the sound insulation in the car at low aerodynamic resistance with greater probability than in the SUV will reign complete silence.
Unfortunately, the Volkswagen XL1 was released limited version, and buy it is not so easy.
