It happened during the application of simulated weather conditions here at our center, where we are testing new materials used to make blades for wind turbines. Lately, we have managed to create a coating material, which, as we found out with the help of tests five times better withstands rain and ocean, " says Michael Drachmann the Hague, the leading engineer of the research center LM Wind Power Technology Centre.In the framework of the European project Windtrust aimed at reducing the cost of manufacturing wind turbines, the specialists check for new material (polyurethane), the purpose of which is to combat the effects of erosion.

Endurance of the new coating is five times higher than the existing industrial standards.

"The latest erosion control materials and technologies able to significantly reduce maintenance costs.
