The only place of growing Psathyrella aquatica - upper reaches of the river Horn in Oregon, USA, in the national forest. Fruiting bodies appear under water at depths of up to half in the ground with a quick and even rough current. They attach themselves to the particles of silt, gravel, wood residues, usually side by side with the colonies of water moss. Fruiting bodies are often covered with gas bubbles, which forms a continuous "pocket" under the bonnet. Disputes evolved platelets accumulate on the bottom surface of the bladder.
