Works on the "arrangement of an electric cable railway" (Mikhailovsky mechanical lift, or Mikhailovsky electric cable climb, so named for the nearby Mikhailovsky Golden-Top Monastery), which would connect Mikhailovsky Hill with Borichev current, were made from 1903 and ended in the spring of 1905.
