The Vasa Museum
So, dear Komrad, submit to your court a selection of photos of the magnificent museum of Sweden. Was he, phot quality is not very much not to abuse. Fota bar of soap on Sony, + shadowy lighting - flash is not used. Museum impresses with its dimensions, space, lack of content and of course moronic shovels prohibitions "do not touch" and "not to take photographs." For more than three hours stay in the museum received only udovolstvie- time seems to stand still. Also, each time at a local movie theater show in Russian movie about this ship.
Let's start: -First bit of history, then foty 38 pcs.
Vasa - the world's only surviving ship of the XVII century.
Due to the fact that survived more than 95 percent of the original design elements, as well as hundreds of carved sculptures, Vasa is a unique artistic value and one of the most prominent tourist attractions world-wide.
In August 1628 a number of royal warships sailed from the harbor of Stockholm. The largest of them was just built Vasa, got its name in honor of the ruling royal dynasty. As part of the ceremony was performed a salute from the cannons, located in the holes on both sides of the ship.
When the mighty ship was moving slowly toward the entrance to the harbor, a sudden gust of wind blew. Vasa bent, but then straightened. The second impulse blocked the ship on its side. Through the open holes for guns gushing water. Vasa sank on
bottom, became a tomb for at least 30, and perhaps 50 of the 150 crew members. And only after 333 years Vasa again saw the light of day.
Vasa was to become one of the leading ships of the Swedish navy. He had 64 guns, most of them are 24-pound (they shot cores weighing 24 pounds or more than 11 kg). Sweden had about twenty warships, but none of them
I had so many guns, and also so heavy guns as the Vasa.
After several years of preparatory work Vasa was raised from
seabed 24 April 1961.
