Submitted by: Michael
Neuschwanstein Castle ("New swan stone") is perhaps the most famous landmark in Germany. The romantic castle of the Bavarian King Ludwig II is located near the town of Fussen and the castle Hohenschwangau in southwest Bavaria, near the Austrian border.
2. Neuschwanstein Castle stands on the site of two castles, the front and rear of Schwangau. King Ludwig II ordered on the site by an explosion rocks lower plateau approximately 8 m and thus create space for the construction of "fairy palace." The ascent to the castle begins at the village of Schwangau. You can climb on foot and on horse sleds.
3. Raise the castle Neuschwanstein starts at another castle - Hohenschwangau ("High swan land"). It was the residence of the Bavarian King Ludwig II of Bavaria and was built by his father Maximilian II of Bavaria.
4. To be honest, close and lock the inside has not made much of an impression. Well, the castle and the castle.
5. It is believed that the best view of the castle opens to podvisnogo Marienbrücke bridge, named after the mother of Ludwig II. Suspension bridge, even older than Neuschwanstein, stretched at a height of 92 meters over a 45-meter waterfall. This bridge is the final point of the journey to the castle for 99% of tourists. Further up the mountain climbs a steep forest path. I should not say that we decided to climb even higher.
6. The view of the Alps, Lake Alpsee and Hohenschwangau Castle.
7. steep path we climbed higher and higher. All the time, it seemed that a little bit more, and we will rise to the top. That feeling never left us two hours :) But views were gorgeous. Neuschwanstein Castle and surroundings.
8. Castle Hohenschwangau and Lake Alpsee.
9. Lake Forggensee.
10. I am against the backdrop of the castle :)
11. Alpine mountains, lakes and forests.
12. Alpine meadows and villages.
13. The path on which we climbed.
14. When we started to climb over our heads flew helicopters. Over time, the helicopters began to fly under us :)
Castles and surroundings.
15. Mountain Trail.
16. Neuschwanstein Castle.
IMHO, when you travel to visit Bavaria Neuschwanstein strictly necessary, but provided up the hill. If not for the ascent and the contemplation of species with bird's-eye view, then a trip to the castle would not leave any emotion. And thanks to these mountain trails castle became one of the most vivid impressions of the holiday.
