Neuschwanstein Castle ("New swan stone") is perhaps the most famous landmark in Germany. The romantic castle of the Bavarian King Ludwig II is located near the town of Fussen and the castle Hohenschwangau in southwest Bavaria, near the Austrian border.

IMHO, when you travel to visit Bavaria Neuschwanstein strictly necessary, but provided up the hill.
