The long-nosed monkey

Nosey belongs to the family martikovich langur monkeys and got its name thanks to the huge nose that is the hallmark of males. Still not able to establish the exact purpose of such a large nose, but apparently his size plays a role when choosing a partner for mating.





The coat of these monkeys are yellowish-brown on the back and white on the belly, limbs and tail are grey, and his face was not coated at all and has a fairly bright reddish, and the white – bluish tint.





These monkeys prefer wet woodland, and the period of their activity falls on the day. Night and early morning they are sleeping.





Almost never moving away from the water, proboscis monkeys reputed to be excellent swimmers that can move under water more than 20 meters. But Gibbon, the proboscis monkeys can only travel on two limbs for a relatively long time.



 

Upon reaching sexual maturity at the age of 5-6 years, males are separated from the group and are looking for a new pack. Proboscis monkeys eat preferably fruits and edible leaves, and sometimes flowers with sweet nectar.
