The Kingdom of Lesotho

The Kingdom of Lesotho is located on a high plateau, fully surrounded by the territory of South Africa. The lowest point in the country is at around 1400 meters above sea level - on this indicator Lesotho is the champion. In other respects, however, the country has nothing to boast: a large part of its two-million population lives below the poverty line. Backbone of the economy is agriculture, diamond mining and export of raw materials in South Africa. In this case, Lesotho - a world leader in terms of HIV infection (29% of the population).
