Californian artist Karen Tarlton invites us into her romantic stories. Each of her paintings is a story about the endless and happy relationship of two people. They are full of life, unity, harmony and love that warms human hearts.
Similar to the technique of the Belarusian master Leonid Afremov, Tarleton uses a palette knife - a special brush knife with which strokes are applied to the canvas. That is why the paintings look so bright and colorful.
The main theme of Karen's paintings is nature, a romantic city, a couple in love. Side by side, a happy couple walks around the city in sunny and rainy weather, wandering along the endless path as if their love will live forever and nothing will spoil this romantic moment.
Romance permeates all her creations. The artist draws inspiration from personal experience. For 23 long years, she accompanied her husband, a military man, around the world, becoming his faithful companion. Perhaps this is the reason why Karen Tarleton's paintings are so lifelike and realistic, striking in their simplicity and elegance. They convey undisguised emotions, tenderness and strength. Karen creates the mood with light, color, and composition. Many of her creations look like sculptural, three-dimensional paintings.
Her work is collectible, very often found in galleries and private homes throughout the United States and Europe.
