Last summer, the agency DARPA first told about their new development - homing bullets .50 caliber (12 mm 7h99). A new type of bullets were developed within the project Extreme Accuracy Tasked Ordnance (EXACTO) jointly with Lockheed Martin and Teledyne. In this case, the bullet can independently deviate from a ballistic trajectory, hitting a moving target.

Data published by DARPA and third-party sources, suggest that the bullet is remotely controlled, appropriate guidance system. In this case, the bullets can hit moving targets at a distance of about two kilometers - a standard sniper weapon that distance is not available. Now DARPA has published new details about their weapons, including video.

Developers agencies argue that a new type of weapon can be useful snipers that are involved in battles in remote areas with difficult terrain, for example, in Afghanistan.
