The city is located on Vyshnevolotskaya valley, on the banks of lakes and Pesvo Udomlya connected by canals, 180 km north-west of Tver.

Distance by road from Moscow - 330 km from Tver - 185 km, from the Highest Volochka - 56 km. From Bologoe on w / d - 60 km from Maksatikha - 52 km. From St. Petersburg by train - 360 km.
