Design of the facility began in 1951. After 5 years, in 1956 a total area of ​​over 7,000 m2 has been accepted by the state commission and submitted to the Ministry of Defence of the USSR to carry on duty around the clock to ensure the communication of senior management of the country in case of a nuclear attack on the USSR.
To combat duty to provide telephone and telegraph communication of the country at the facility on a daily basis were more than 2,500 people.
In the 60s GSB "Tagansky" it was fully equipped with everything you need in the event of a nuclear attack. Stocks of food, drinking water, air regeneration system could provide life about five thousand people for several months.
At the end of the 80 nuclear tensions gradually began to weaken and GSB "Tagansky" lost its key importance in ensuring the country's defense.
For several years, without due attention to the object gradually lost their power. It has survived only a massive steel doors and steel cladding.
