One of the most dangerous freshwater fish today is the tiger goliath, second only to piranhas in bloodthirstiness. This species of fish is found in Africa. There are known cases of tiger goliath attacks on crocodiles.
The length of the predator reaches 180 cm, the weight is more than 50 kilograms.








Despite the obvious threat posed by representatives of this species of fish, in Africa, tigerfish is an object of sport fishing. In the photo: 52-year-old Jeremy Wade is a fisherman and expert on unusual freshwater fish, host of the program "River Monsters" with his trophy - a captured tiger fish.



To catch such a large representative of predatory fish, Jeremy spent 8 days in hard-to-reach places of the Congo River waiting for a catch.

Jeremy's prey is one of the largest individuals, weighing 154 pounds (about 70 kg) and measuring 5 feet (1.5 meters) long.



The tiger shark has 32 sharp teeth in its mouth, similar in size to the teeth of a white shark.
There are known cases of tiger fish attacks on people and crocodiles.



On the side of the body of the Goliath fish, you can see dark horizontal stripes resembling tigers. Therefore, the Goliath fish is called tiger fish.



The Goliath fish is a predator. Its diet consists of smaller fish. As a dessert, the giant eats the kamba fish, which lives in abundance in the Congo River.

The power and size of the Goliath fish allow it to swim against the current, which is a difficult task for smaller fish. Therefore, fish that are unable to overcome the strong flow of water themselves fall into the predator's teeth.



Goliath fish are also kept by aquarists. It is placed in exhibition aquariums with a shelter and powerful filtration.
