Sometimes it seems that such a shadow is thickening ahead that no inner light is able to break through it. You feel the air becoming denser, your thoughts numb, and the future shrinks into a narrow tunnel. But even in such moments, there is a way – a soft, attentive, almost imperceptible way – that returns space to you inside.
Waiting for a big problem is like a slowly increasing sound – nothing has happened yet, but you are already tense. At night, thoughts go in circles, like a watchman around the perimeter, measuring the steps of anxiety. In the morning, the same feeling returns: in the smell of the weather, in a random phrase from a passerby, in the sound of a notification. This feeling doesn't just bother you – it steals real life, taking you away from what is happening here and now.
The paradox is that the longer you push away unpleasant thoughts, the more they compress into a lump and the more often they return. Internal resistance always increases pain. But if you give yourself the space to realize your feelings, if you gently enter their middle, the structure of fear changes. It ceases to be a predator and turns into a map of the territory that needs to be passed.
Our consciousness tends to get stuck on the darkest point of the future – as if putting it as wallpaper on the inner screen. But if you go a little further, look beyond this point, see not only the moment of impact, but also what follows, – the breath returns.
Try it: imagine that the most unpleasant moment comes. Yes, it's hard. Allow yourself to feel the density of anxiety, the taste of hopelessness, the heaviness of the words that will sound. And then take a step forward – beyond the edge of the stage. Where the veil is already tearing, where space is expanding again. There you still exist: with your plans, loved ones, laughter, warmth, ordinary life.
Big problems rarely change everything. They create waves, but they don't erase the ocean.
Each time dark pictures of the future return, add a continuation to them – a few steps after. Where joy is possible again. Where life goes on. Where you breathe more freely.
Deep inside, we know that the problem will happen in its own time – not before. But the mind continues to play out the anxiety again and again, as if trying to prepare. The main trap is that such an attempt to prepare drains the present.
Now, at this moment, nothing terrible is happening. Right now you are sitting, lying, standing; breathing; you are in a space where everything is stable. The present is a safe territory. And the more often you return to it with attention, the more stable you become in the face of what is coming.
Maintain the rhythm of everyday affairs. It is they who create bridges across the storms that have not yet arrived.
An amazing thing: if you choose a "gift after" in advance, the brain stops focusing only on the negative part of the scenario. A bright compensator appears: a glass of sweet water after bitter medicine. It can be anything – from a big purchase to a small joy.
While you look at the problem through the prism of reward, a feeling of path appears inside – and not a feeling of deadlock.
A big problem never appears out of nowhere. There are always prerequisites, missed signals, decisions that were made automatically. Now is not the calmest time, but it is surprisingly suitable for internal adjustment.
Think: what qualities should be strengthened, and which ones should be stopped dragging along? Where did you ignore your own boundaries, and where, on the contrary, did you hold on too rigidly? What do you want to come out of this story?
Problems come and go. But who you become during the passage remains.
Take a deep breath. Slow exhale. Feel how it becomes a little more spacious inside. You are not alone. You will cope. And after that – there will definitely be life.
