Glass cutting

Glass artist from California Loren Stump specializes in this type of work on the glass, which is called Murrina. The method consists in that the glass rods are melted together and then cut, resulting appear complex patterns and shapes. Although this method appeared in the Middle East about 4000 years ago, Stump for 35 years has perfected the art of its own so that can now spread portraits and paintings in the glass before slicing, which means it can immediately see the final result. At present, it is the hardest work - this detailed interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci's "The Virgin in the rocks." To create a painting he used hundreds of glass elements.
