Eclipse, 2010, directed by David Slade

Something incredible was expected from this film, because the film was directed by David Slade, known for his work "30 Days of Night" (one of my favorite vampire films!). But expectations were not met. "Eclipse" turned out to be very sweet: sighs, close-up kisses, long conversations. I didn't see anything criminal in this (especially since some moments turned out to be very romantic), but film critics were less tolerant in this regard.

Pattinson is being made beautiful. During the filming of all parts of the saga, he had to spend a lot of time in the make-up chair to do his hair (or put on a wig), lighten his face, put on lipstick and put on colored lenses.

In order to turn into a wolf with the help of computer graphics, Taylor Lautner had to wear such a funny costume (a similar one was wore, for example, by Andy Serkis when he transformed into Gollum on the set of The Lord of the Rings). In general, the "wolf" scenes were filmed in three stages. At first, the actors got down to business, then life-size models of wolves took their place, and after all this, a virtual model of the animals was created in the studio based on the footage. By the way, the role of the wolf Leia, played by Julia Jones, could go to Vanessa Hudgens or Miranda Kerr.

Breaking Dawn: Part 1, 2011, directed by Bill Condon

"Breaking Dawn" is the beginning of the end of the "Twilight saga". Unlike other series, this part turned out to be tougher and even a little scary. In addition, it was in this film that the wedding of Edward and Bella took place... and their long-awaited wedding night.

One of the main intrigues of the film was the wedding dress of the main character. Fans of the saga thought for a long time and wondered what Bella's wedding dress would be like and, finally, saw it. True, it turned out to be not real, because it was only a figment of the bride's imagination and existed only in her dream. The wedding ceremony of a non-standard couple took place in a non-standard place - on the edge of the forest. Wildflowers, spruce branches, stumps - it is difficult to come up with a more original décor for a wedding ceremony. How thrilling!





The paradise island of Esme, where the newlyweds spent their short honeymoon, actually turned out to be not so beautiful - a green screen to help!



After Breaking Dawn 1 was released, Pattinson admitted that for six months before filming, he followed a strict diet and regularly visited the gym to demonstrate his muscular body to impressionable viewers during the filming of the episode of the wedding night. Apparently, he was haunted by the laurels of Taylor Lautner :)

In order for Kristen Stewart not to have to lose weight to the state of a skeleton for filming the scenes of her heroine's pregnancy, a doll was created - exactly an emaciated actress.









Make-up artists conjure up Stewart's appearance, turning her into an emaciated Bella Swan in the last stages of pregnancy.





The culmination is the birth of Renesmee. As in all films, the newborn baby was played by a rather large, 1.5-month-old baby, but in our case this is natural - after all, according to the original source, a vampire child develops very quickly.







Breaking Dawn: Part 2, 2012, directed by Bill Condon

That's the end of the fairy tale, and whoever watched it - well done! The second part of "Breaking Dawn" became a very spectacular and, I am not afraid of this word, an interesting conclusion to the Twilight saga. I can't say that I expected some kind of super grand finale when I went to the cinema to see this film... But I got it. The creators of the film did a great job - they created a film that was able to surprise. In 2012, I watched a lot of films – some I was delighted with, some I didn't like, some I simply didn't remember, but only one really surprised me. And who would have thought that it would be a "pop, silly, romantic fairy tale for teenagers."

The life of a vampire is not without tricks. I suspect that the most difficult jumps, ups and downs were performed by stuntmen, although Kristen often tried to do a few unsafe stunts herself.

Funny moment. I think Kellan Lutz had to try very hard to portray the effort and helplessness in the fight with the fragile Kristen.



Despite the fact that the role of Renesmee in the film was played by as many as nine young actresses (not counting babies and a creepy animatronic child), the novice model and actress Mackenzie Foy, whose face flashed on the screen more often than others, became famous thanks to her. During the filming, the girl had a special jar in which the actors put money for each obscene expression. By the end of filming, a decent amount of money had accumulated in it, which was donated to the needs of one of the children's hospitals.



I don't know what you were most looking forward to in this movie, but I personally hoped to see new vampires and a demonstration of their magical abilities as soon as possible. The choice of director did not disappoint me - despite some discrepancies with the original source and understatements, the images of vampires turned out to be very interesting. Most of all, I was pleased with the fact that not people with ideal appearance were chosen for the roles of bloodsuckers, but actors with very memorable faces and charisma. Here is one of them - Joe Anderson in the image of the nomad Alistair.

The filming process of the largest scene of the second "Breaking Dawn", which in reality turned out to be not so large-scale. The action unfolded not in the endless forest expanses, but under the roof of the shooting pavilion. This is the magic of cinema!
