Joint team of astrophysicists from France, Israel and the United States have created a three-dimensional visualization of the local supercluster, which includes our Galaxy. For researchers used the largest catalog of galaxies, called Cosmicflows-2 Thanks to this resource and its database able to simulate the supercluster, based on the information about the movement of thousands of galaxies in Laniakea.



Experts note that in Laniakea far more galaxies than is used in the model, but, unfortunately, even in such a complete catalog as Cosmicflows-2 does not have data about thousands of other galaxies. "Heaven" side by side with four other superclusters, known as the Shapley (Shapley), Hercules (Hercules), Coma and Perseus-Pisces.
