A brilliant way to reuse leftovers pencils

Brian Weir, inventive dad from San Francisco, invented an ingenious way to reuse residues of wax crayons, which are thrown out of schools and restaurants. Brian melts residues and recycled into new crayons for children in hospitals.

Every year, restaurants and schools throw up to 34,000 kg of wax crayons in the trash





The idea of refining came in 2011, when Bryan was celebrating a birthday in the restaurant. The waiter brought his sons some new wax crayons, then dad asked what to do with crayons after their children leave. It turned out that almost untouched pencils are in the trash.





Brian found a great solution — it melts the remnants of pencils





Then pour the mixture into special molds





And each time receives 96 new wax crayons





These pencils are thicker, and children with special needs easier to capture them





The finished pencils are transported to California hospital





Already delivered more than 2000 boxes of pencils





"If these pencils make children forget, if only for 10 minutes that they are in the hospital, we successfully completed the work," says Brian. published
