59-year-old Georgian monk Maxim Kavtaradze the last 20 years living on the forty-meter limestone monolith in Imereti. Church on Katshiyskom Pillar was built between VI and VIII century until the Ottoman invasion in the XV century there lived Stylites. Maxim hit himself in the faith once released from prison. To rethink his life, he rose to Katshiysky Pillar in 1993. The first time he lived in a canvas tent, and later the Christian community helped him to build a small hermitage.
