Galen Rowell (Galen Rowell) was born in '82 ago in a small California town of Berkeley. When the boy was 10 years old, he is already actively engaged in mountaineering. Six years later, Galen conquer yourself first peak in Yosemite National Park. Mountaineering and climbing completely absorbed Rowell and he eventually sold his small but profitable business for the photos and the conquest of peaks. In 1972, the photographer came the first major order from the magazine «National Geographic». And then everything went only upwards. Over the next 30 years, the photographer captured the Everest and two "eight thousanders", not to mention the smaller summits. 12 days Galen Rowell has not lived up to their 62 th birthday. The plane in which he returned to Alaska with his wife Barbara, crashed while landing at the airport of Bishop, California.
