The Dutch company Shapeways, which specializiruetsya in the field of 3D printing, will use the new soft plastic material to create different products based on 3D models. Elastomer, which is called Elаsto Plаstic, ideal for printing items of clothing, including shoes, for example, sandals.
Today, the material exists only in the color "white night". Its features are high elasticity, what is lacking most other materials used in 3D printing. Besides, Elаsto Plаstic has a shape memory effect, tobish the ability to return to its original shape after deformation.





At the same time Shаpeways claims that the material is experimental and on closer inspection has a rather rough appearance. At this stage Elаsto Plаstic used only for printing your own files. 3D models from the online store Shаpeways new option is not yet available.
The thickness of the printed products must be at least five millimeters. Only in this case, the manufacturer is responsible for the high strength of the material.





Material testing will continue until the ninth of July. Then the company decides to leave the material, or to abandon the sale. If the test succeeds, the user opens the widest variety of options for 3D printing, which is not possible when using rigid plastics.
