The Walking Bicycle—scooter for improved mental and physical health

"Walking Bicycle" — combines both walking and Cycling and for pedestrians.

Walking and Cycling — probably the two best ways to improve mental and physical health, as opposed to driving. Plus it's also a great way to more deeply acquainted with the city. In Japan Cycling is a popular choice, and at the same time designers are constantly looking for alternative transportation, now Japanese developers are experimenting with combining the two things in a personal vehicle, they call it "Walking Bicycle Club" (WBC), which looks a bit like a scooter with wheels and a motor equipped with ledges for feet.

Created by architect and designer Savoy Teem and Kenya Hara (Shuwa Tei and Kenya Hara) from MUJI, WBC may appeal to those who enjoy walking but would like to go long distances at speeds comparable to bike (up to 15 km per hour or 24 km per hour). The motor power supply will be able to help pass 20 km (12 miles) on a single charge.

Dimensions: 1.2 meters (3.9 feet) long and weighing 36 kg (79 lb) on the one hand, it seems heavy, but the concept of the WBC, which comes in four different fashionable colors, is "part mobility and part fashion vehicle".

Best of all, the WBC will be classified as a Bicycle (in Japan at least) so that riders did not need any permits to operate it.

Although this is an intriguing concept, the price tag on WBC very "bite"- according to the manufacturer, auto parts manufacturer Katayama Kogyo ("Katayama Kogyo"), WBC will be in October 2014 200 000 yen ($ 2900). Price will probably make this vehicle more exclusive than a regular bike.
