The VBB-3: the world's fastest electric car with a capacity of 3000 HP

Student engineers from the Center for Automotive Research of the Ohio state University together with specialists of the French company Venturi Automobiles con the world's most powerful electric car.
The new car was a form of Streamliner (legarda) and the name of the VBB-3. The aim of the team of designers was not to create an electric car for commercial use, and establishing a new world speed record. With the help of the engineers of the company Venturi Automobiles are going to beat your own record in 2010 – then they were able to accelerate on the earlier modifications of the Buckeye Bullet 2.5 to 494 km/h (307 mph).
The machine was equipped with two electric motors with a total capacity of 3000 horsepower and 2800 Nm of torque, which allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h in two seconds. The motors get power from the battery module consisting of 2000 lithium iron phosphate cells. At this time the developers hope that the vehicle will be able to develop more than 600 km/h (372 mph). Your new record for team Venturi Automobiles is going to ship this summer and, according to their calculations, under ideal conditions, the VBB-3 will be able to accelerate to 700 km/h.
At the moment, a 12-meter electric car passes final tests, during which scrutiny is exposed to every element of the car. In particular, engineers need to test the electronics and the car cables, the total length is 5.6 km (3.5 miles).
Novelty and interested in the space Agency NASA, so the car will be tested not only by the high-speed capabilities, but also on the efficiency of electric traction in various conditions. The study will help engineers understand how vehicles with the electric power installation can handle stronger loads in the harsh desert conditions (speed record will be put to the Speedway in the Salt plains of Bonneville – one of the world's largest salt lakes, located in Utah)
By the way, the company Venturi also engaged in the manufacture of electric race cars to Formula E and private racing team, which utilizes all the latest technology and knowledge gained in the design of the VBB-3 – the world's fastest electric car.
Interesting fact: this year, the world speed record for ground movement going to supply the British team with a jet car, Bloodhound SSC. The designers of the car expect to beat the current speed record in 1227,667 km/h, speeding not to less than 1600 km/h. published
