Solovki

Solovetsky archipelago in the White sea, the cold always seemed to be people beyond, a mystical land. Diveevo

In the South of the Nizhny Novgorod region is the fourth (after Iberia, Athos and Kiev-Pechersk Lavra) the earthly destiny of the virgin. About 1760 the nun Alexandra of Florovsky monastery in Kiev, there were two visions. In the first the mother of God sent her on a long journey, and when Alexander got to the village of Diveevo, he heard a second indication: to establish a monastery.

In 1789 the convent had taken under his wing Hierodeacon Seraphim, which with time will become one of the most revered Russian saints. The Pskovo-Pechersk monastery

The Pskovo-Pechersk monastery was never closed after all 5 centuries of its history — even during the Soviet anti-Catholic persecution. The Trinity-Sergius Lavra

In the Trinity-Sergius Lavra need to visit at least once in your life. This is one of the largest Russian monasteries, a treasure trove of ancient art and the world heritage site of UNESCO. In 1337 brothers Bartholomew (the future St. Sergius of Radonezh) and Stefan settled on the hill Makovets river Konchury and founded the Trinity desert.
